Professional Musical Theatre & Performing Arts Programme
This programme is a three (3) year intensive course designed to give students all round training that is vital in the performing arts industry. Establishing versatility will allow our students to create the pathway to a successful and diverse career in the performing arts industry.
The Professional Musical Theatre and Performing Arts Programme is geared towards training the students to become triple threats. Students receive exceptional training by our industry leading professional educators to ensure elevated progression from every student.
Subjects of Study
Dance
All students will receive a diverse programme of dance training. Starting with the core subjects of Classical Ballet, Jazz and Tap for the grounding foundations of dance.
This will be complemented with extra disciplines such as Commercial, Contemporary, Broadway Jazz, Conditioning, Pas De Deux, Stretch and Core, Acrobatics, Pointe Work, Hip Hop, Choreography and Dance Audition Technique.
Acting
Students will study a wide range of skills that can be used across the board in all practices of this programme. Training our students to be exceptional performers and connect to an audience is essential.
Students will study skills and techniques from influential practitioners, master the skill of acting through song, musical theatre acting, TV and film acting, theatre acting, along with voice and accent dialect work and acting audition technique.
Singing
Supplying an exceptional vocal training is deemed very important to the faculty here at MEPA College. Students will learn the skills and develop the confidence needed to be a successful vocalist in the industry.
In order to achieve this, our expert faculty deliver vocal technique, vocal health, connecting to material, repertoire development, mic technique, voice anatomy and vocal audition technique.
College Entry Requirements
Entry into college is by audition only. To apply for an audition you will need to complete and return the application and medical form together with the required photographs and audition fee.
Once we have received all of the relevant documents, you will be offered an audition date in which you must confirm your attendance.
Auditions are held between three and four times a year and are published on our website. We would advise applying sooner rather than later. MEPA College take pride in excepting students that are passionate, hardworking and demonstrate potential to succeed in the performing arts industry.
Student Development Statement
All students are set goals throughout the programme and constantly assessed formally and informally to ensure they are reaching all the personal goals set out for them. It’s our aim to ensure every student is nurtured and encouraged to help them gain confidence and grow as a artist. This will guarantee students will graduate with the knowledge they need to be prepared for the journey beyond graduation.
